Jinx | March

Jinx is an abstract tattoo artist dividing her time between creative hubs like Philadelphia, NYC, Montpellier, and Sommières. A lifelong artist, she formally earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015. Her passion for artistic expression stretches far beyond academic recognition. Her journey into sharing art on the human body has been deeply personal and transformative. She has been drawn to organic, biological, and botanical fantasies—shapes that seemed to emerge effortlessly in her work. For years, these forms lingered on paper, canvas, and walls, yet they never felt fully at home there. Often they would reappear in quiet moments, slipping into journal entries or hovering poetically between thoughts. Her artistic focus has long revolved around humanity's relationship with raw materials and delving into how we uncover the potential hidden within natural substances. From the alchemy of turning rocks into metals, bark into medicine, or fossils into fuel, they explore the interplay between the visible and the invisible, life and what might seem lifeless. This curiosity expressed itself through performance art, installations, and sculpture. Yet, no matter the medium, the familiar shapes returned, seeking a place to belong. It wasn’t until she began exploring tattoo work that the pieces fell into place. Slowly, the realization dawned: these shapes and organic forms were meant to live and breathe on human skin. Bodies offered a dynamic, evolving canvas—one that could travel, age, and share a symbiotic existence with the art. The moment of realization was deeply emotional, a culmination of years of searching for the right home for her work. Jinx's connection to tattooing began in her early teens, sparked by an innate curiosity and fascination. From the first self-made mark on her own skin to the day she inscribed her designs onto others, it has been a journey of discovery and fulfillment. Today, she is proud to see her art find permanence in the flesh, transforming into a living, breathing part of another’s story. Through this medium, her work becomes a companion, a talisman, and a reflection of life’s strange, beautiful adventure. Please follow her on instagram @spirulina_tattoo for booking announcements.
