Jinx | April

Jinx is a visionary abstract tattoo artist who moves between creative hubs like Philadelphia, New York City, Montpellier, and Sommières. A lifelong artist, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015. However, her passion for creativity stretches far beyond academic recognition.
From the beginning, Jinx felt a deep connection to organic, biological, and botanical shapes. These forms emerged naturally in her early work, appearing on paper, canvas, and walls. Yet despite her efforts, they never truly felt at home there. They often resurfaced in quiet journal entries or drifted into moments of reflection, hinting that they needed something more.
Jinx’s artistic focus often explores humanity’s relationship with raw materials. She studies how people transform rocks into metals, bark into medicine, and fossils into fuel. Through performance art, installations, and sculpture, she delves into the balance between what is visible and invisible, alive and seemingly lifeless. Throughout these projects, the same flowing shapes kept reappearing, searching for a permanent space.
Everything changed when Jinx discovered tattooing. She realized that human skin could offer a dynamic, evolving canvas—one that could travel, age, and transform alongside the artwork. For the first time, those familiar organic forms found their true home. This moment of discovery felt emotional and powerful, marking the end of a long search.
Jinx’s fascination with tattoos began during her early teens. Out of pure curiosity, she made her first self-taught mark on her own skin. As she gained experience, tattooing became more than a passion—it became a way to connect deeply with others. Today, her designs live permanently on those who carry them, transforming into talismans, companions, and reflections of life's beautiful, strange adventure.
