Artist Bio:

Sam Whalen is a multidimensional artist working with a broad range of mediums and methodologies. She earned a BFA in sculpture and painting from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA and an MFA from The University of Delaware in Newark, DE where she received the A. Gray Magness Scholarship for creative merit. Her artistic practice is speckled with curatorial pursuits, leading to The Delaware Contemporary and The University of Delaware awarding her with the 2019 - 2020 Curatorial Fellowship. She founded The Closet Gallery, a student gallery, at Cornish College of the Arts, which continues to produce student driven exhibitions. She has assisted several successful artists in the execution of large-scale public projects including participation in a Nick Cave sound suit performance at the Seattle Art Museum . She has received numerous album artwork commissions and has worked collaboratively with many other creatives within the performing arts. Her consistent exhibition record includes displaying work in Seattle, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Berlin.
