Virtual Spring

Artist Bio:

Kelly Schultz is a visual artist from Ballston Lake, New York, currently based in Philadelphia, PA. She received her BFA from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, with a focus in painting/drawing and a minor in art history. Her abstract paintings and mixed media works explore themes of nostalgia, ephemerality, and place. Each one is like a landscape of a memory, either materializing or crumbling, starting out with flowing acrylic paint and water being added and taken away. They are often inhabited by ghostly symbols, shapes, or text, and sometimes have layers of sharp textural paint added like a sort of window frame.
